Love Is In The Air

Can you feel it? Love is in the air! Valentines Day is 1 week away. I love Valentines Day! It includes some of my favorite things: hearts, the colors pink and red, love, cards, candy, flowers, .... Oh, it doesn't matter if I don't receive all of those things, (we usually eat out and exchange valentines) especially the candy, but just seeing the shelves of it at stores puts a mushy warm feeling in me. And the feeling of love, there's just nothing like it, is there? Even if you're a child or a single person without a significant other, everyone loves love, everyone needs love. Get busy and spread some around. I will remember my sweetheart, but I'll also spread some love to my children, parents, and friends. I got my first valentine last night. Noelle and Cale gave Scot and me a valentine with a gift card enclosed. The gift card can be used at Red Lobster or Olive Garden restaurants. Now I know why my daddy politely fusses every time I spend money on him. I did the same to the kids last night! I was happy that they were being so thoughtful and generous, but at the same time, I felt terrible that they had used their own money on us. But, I will humbly and thankfully abide by their wishes and go on a date with my husband one day or evening next week. I will do my best to share some thoughts and pictures about love and Valentines Day over the next week. Turn your speakers on and listen to my song selections. I couldn't find my favorite love song, "To Me" sung by Barbara Mandrel and Lee Greenwood. That is the song that was sung at our wedding as I walked down the aisle. Maybe I'll post the words in a post in a day or two. Well, enjoy the love that's in the air and the love that's in your hearts! Oh, and most of all, enjoy the love that God so generously gave us in His Son Jesus. Get to spreadin'!

Yes, I'm looking forward to next Saturday. Hubby and I will be going to our church's Sweetheart Banquet and for the first time in 3 years, I'm not in charge or cooking! I ordered some flowers for my mom today to give to her from my two children, this will be her first Valentine's Day without my dad and he always gave her flowers. Hope your day is going great! Don't forget to come and get your award!

Leisa,
I enjoyed your post on the KJV about "When the Thought Doesn't Count"... that is so true. Those were great tips and helps for me--a new pastor's wife. How do you find to keep a happy medium-serving others- and your family? I am finding that very difficult with 4 children under 6 and homeschooling, added to all the other daily activities of the home. Do you have any tips for me?
I really enjoyed stopping by your blog... you seem like such a sweet pastor's wife:) I am also a Southerner from Alabama, but the good Lord has called my husband and I to the needy land of Canada.
