Bless this house, oh Lord, we cry.
please keep it cool in mid-July.
Bless the walls where termites dine,
while ants and roaches march in time.
Bless our yard where spiders pass
fire ant castles in the grass.
Bless the garage, a home to please
carpenter beetles, ticks, and fleas.
Bless the love bugs, two by two,
the gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you.
Millions of creatures that fly and crawl,
In Mississippi, Lord, you've put them all!
But this is home, and here we'll stay,
So thank you Lord, for insect spray.
I saw this in Tombigbee Country Magazine, August 2009 edition

That is great!
That is too funny!
I hope to see you at practice on Tuesday! :)
Love this! They hit the nail right on the head with this "blessing"! ha We've been having trouble with those big red wasps and a few hornets this year. Lots of spiders too.
Hope you have a great Lord's Day today.
Marilyn....in Mississippi
That's funny! I miss you! We have had a ton of these crunchy little millipede bugs this year!
Thank the Lord for Manitoba!
If it wasn't for the music of the circada's at night it would be just be to quite to go to sleep. Have a blessed day.
When hubby was on active duty down in Atlanta the kids and I were up here in PA. We would all be together during the summer. And while I loved Atlanta, it sure was hot. Not as hot as it must be in Mississippi, but I can relate to the roaches that were so huge! Great poem!
So funny... not as many up in the great, white north:)
