When Jennifer was a little girl, she told her mother that she didn't like her middle name (Rose) and that she wanted a middle name like Liesa's (Jo), so I told her that we'd swap. From then on, I called her Jennifer Jo and me Liesa Rose!

Alex was born on our Grandmother Claudie Pounder's birthday.

Freedom's Christmas Program

Our Youth at Freedom presented a Christmas program Sunday night, December 20th. The program included scripture readings from Luke telling of Christ's birth and several Christmas songs. After the program, Bro. Scot gave a short devotion and invitation. Our night concluded with a fellowship meal of pork loins, pulled pork, ribs, deer tenderloin, baked beans, potato salad, Cole slaw, and desserts. The young people did a wonderful job singing. We were all so proud of them.

Aunt Sandra's Surprise Party

Happy 60th Birthday to San!

Everyone waiting to yell "SURPRISE"!

And it was a surprise!

Ezzell's BBQ catered the food.

We all enjoyed pork, chicken, and all the trimmings!

Whewww, lots of candles! :)

Sandra let her grandchildren blow out the candles!

We played a game. We had 2 teams participate.

I gave both teams a list of items that they had to come up with out of their purses or billfolds.

They had 5 minutes to see which team could come up with the most items! (Items included: postage stamp, eye drops, tylenol, chapstick, 5o dollar bill, movie ticket stub, receipt, Walmart card, face powder, bandana hanky, tweezers, pepper spray, ...)

And then, we played The Newlywed game.

We had the original Peden brother and sisters and their spouses to participate. One word: HILARIOUS! I was the host and they just had me rolling! So funny.

The winners were Ann and Truman.
They won chocolate, vitamins for people over 50, and a pretty nightgown.

Sandra received many nice gifts.

After the food, fellowship, and games, Kerry gave a presentation of some family history which was very interesting. He was stressing the importance of each family passing along the legacy of good Christian families from generation to generation. He encouraged us to put Christ as the number one priority in our homes and families. He did a great job; I think just about everyone teared up. It was very touching. I am very thankful for my husbands family. I'm blessed to be a part of it.

A Lady Spartan Christmas

Tuesday night, December 15th, some of the Spartan girls and Mother's of Spartans met at the Coffee Addict (I just love that name) in New Albany for desserts and coffees.

The Starfish Story

The Starfish Story

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can’t make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf.

Then, smiling at the man, he said…”I made a difference for that one.”

And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 22-23

Meet Our New Addition

No, but the money for the dog was.

Introducing our new family member: Remington Gauge George.

This nice lady is the owner of Remington's Mother and Daddy.
She did an excellent job helping them raise their eight babies.

Remington is going home with his new owner and friend, Cale!


Noelle holds Remington for a while on the way home.
He's so snugly and cuddly!


He is a 6 week old Border Collie.

We took him by to visit Ma Wanda and Pa Pa James on the way home.

He is so funny. He loves to get in tight places that he can just barely fit in or under. He'll play and play, but when he's finished, he just plops over and takes a nap! I rocked him to sleep and put him in his bed and thankfully, he stayed there! He woke us up at 6 this morning to go outside. I took him out (Cale is sick), brought him back in and fed him, we played with him a while, and then we all took naps for a while. He is very playful but not overly hyper and loves to give kisses and be held. He loves the toys we bought for him, but I think he likes a wash cloth the best! (and socks-while our feet are in them!) Cale is a wonderful master to Remington. Remington's first owner had already worked with him alot and now he has Cale to teach him more things. I'm glad Cale was ready to open his heart to another puppy.
